Winter/Spring Training Dates for the Two-Day Introduction to Hydronic Heating Installations Course:

Participants in this course will gain a basic knowledge of hydronic system fundamentals, including the concept of heat loss calculation. This course has been developed by the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology specifically for the Canadian Hydronics Council. This course is designed to identify some of the fundamental principals related to today’s hydronic systems. Relevant topics are covered on an awareness level so entry level installers may gain some information to become more functional when practicing this craft.

This is an entry level course and the starting point for those who are interested in the professional installation of hydronic heating systems. Participants will take from this course basic knowledge of how the design relates to the installation and how to avoid the pitfalls that cause the installation to fail.

What will you learn?

Upon completion of this course you will be able to:

  1. Introduce basic concepts of heat loss
  2. Understand the characteristics of various types of boilers
  3. Correctly interpret manufacturers’ instructions and apply the information
  4. Identify and arrange required boiler trim
  5. Recognize various piping systems and their applications
  6. Identify basic types of heat emission systems

Who should attend?

This is recommended for anyone who wants to learn the latest basics in hydronic installation practices: Installers, contractors, designers, wholesalers, manufacturers and agents.

School certificate:

Students who successfully complete the school will receive a framed certificate. This is visible evidence to your clients that you have been professionally trained.
